My bestie…the internet star.

I’ve spent the better part of the last 20 years honing my comedic chops to one day be famous…and rule the world!!! Or at least have a Facebook live show from my kitchen. I’m happy with where I’ve landed and have lived a life of contentment until my bestie became an internet star. That’s right! My bestie and neighbor, Chris (aka BNC- Best Neighbor Chris) recently asked me to attend her son’s final high school performance of “Mama Mia” and it was a lovely! Her son, Luke, is so talented…And the ending of the show features the audience dancing in the aisles.

I had started out video taping her son…on stage…being fabulous, but quickly noticed Chris’ dancing in the aisles and realized the real star that night was the “soon to be empty nester” dancing with reckless abandon for all to see! Chris is the mother of four who has spent the last 30 years raising kids…and you’ll never meet a more dedicated and loving mom than her. That night signified the LAST show, of her LAST child….at the end of his LAST year in high school. All of us have been here, or soon will be and it’s hard. It’s the end of an era. It’s the end of running lunches up to school, cheering on the sidelines at Lacrosse Games and taking pics of school dances. I’ve tried preparing her for the upcoming changes to her life….

I posted the video of her to my instagram and within a few hours it went viral…and a few days later we spotted her “Dancing Queen” moves on Inside Edition! She’s famous!! I’m not sure if it’s because of the pure joy in her eyes or the exuberance she exhibits while encouraging everyone else to get up and dance or the fact that she jumped all those times and didn’t break her knees….but everyone was in LOVE with that mom.

I hope everyone gets a chance to cheered on by a mom that loves you this much. I hope you get to cheer on your loved ones to the soundtrack of Mama Mia and ABBA. And hope to one day be as famous as my bestie and neighbor…for just simply dancing, loving my family and making people smile.

Who are you proud of? What soundtrack would you play to celebrate the people you love?
