Dear Di-ary….

Question: What age did you feel you learned the most about life, experiences, or travels.?

From: Carmen II

I believe I’ve learned many lessons at different ages.  As I’ve grown from a young adult, until now, I am constantly learning about myself, life, others, relationships etc.

For me, my journey has not been without joy, sorrow, suffering, sadness, and great loss.  I do believe that all the things we experience during our lifetime shapes us into the person we are meant to be and that everyone who comes into our lives is there for a reason….to help us learn, heal, and grow.

During times of sadness I have been surrounded by great love and prayers that have made such a difference in my healing, moving forward and to become a better person.

I believe we are here to share our sorrows and joy with each other.  We are people who need others in our lives to help us navigate through the good times and the bad.  When I think back I have been blessed to have such a great support system of family and friends who have always been there for me and our family.  Without them I don’t know how we would have gotten through some things.  I try to include my family and friends in the happy times of my life.  I want to surround myself with others who share the same things as me.  During times of great joy I want them there with me to experience the joy and happiness with me.  After all, they were there to support me during the difficult times and I want them to have the joy too!

That’s why I enjoy being together with family and friends whenever possible.  To share a meal, talk, laugh, have a drink and enjoy each others company.  Life is too short….wear the new dress, use the good towels, do what makes you happy, go see a show, watch the sunset, listen to your favorite music, dance like no one is watching, have company over, go on a picnic, pick some flowers, call a friend, watch a good movie, sing out loud to the music on the car radio, sit outside, talk to a neighbor, join a group, help others, go on a trip, take up a hobby, go for a walk, be a good friend, send someone a card, go out to lunch with a friend, hold the door for someone, smile at others….even if you don’t know them, take a walk on the beach, buy yourself a bouquet of flowers, visit a sick friend, cook your favorite meal, and eat the ice cream (with wet nuts of course!).

I’ve learned so much during my lifetime and still continue to learn every day.  So, I can’t say there is a particular age that I’ve learned things as I am still learning.   One thing I know for sure….

“Surround yourself with those who love you, support you, and encourage you on a daily basis.  You are a gift to others!  Make sure they treat you with love, respect, and kindness every single day!”

And most of all….Do what brings you joy!!!!

Love you all,

Ladydi
